What is Duac Combination Gel?

Duac Combination Gel is an acne treatment that is a fixed-dose combination of benzoyl peroxide (BPO) and clindamycin (Dalacin). It improves inflammatory acne at an early stage by having multiple actions such as antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and exfoliating actions.
The name “Duac” is derived from combining “dual action.”

The antibacterial activity of Duac Combination Gel is also recognized by current acne treatment guidelines as an A-rated drug for the treatment of mild, moderate, and severe acne in the inflammatory phase. In clinical trials, it has been shown to reduce red acne by approximately 60% in 2 weeks and by 90% in 12 weeks.

About the Effectiveness of Duac

Duac is a drug that can contribute to the fast healing of red acne.Faster healing of red acne leads to prevention of acne scars. Currently, it is difficult to cure acne scars with insurance treatment, and uninsured treatment increases the financial burden on the patient.

Acne is sometimes referred to as a “symbol of youth,” but it is also said to be a cause of bullying and other problems that reduce quality of life. Early treatment at a medical institution not only prevents acne scars but also improves quality of life.

Patients Eligible to Use Duac

First and foremost, it is useful for patients suffering from red acne. Since Duac Combination Gel also contains benzoyl peroxide, it can be used on non-inflammatory white acne as well, making it a useful drug in general.

How to use Duac

Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area once a day after washing your face. Our staff will give you specific instructions on how to apply it. If you have any questions, please check with the director, nurses, or other clinic staff. We also have a patient instruction sheet available.

Side Effects of Duac Combination Gel

Side effects may include skin dryness, contact dermatitis, erythema, and pruritus. No systemic side effects have been observed to date. Please consult us if you experience any side effects. Discontinue use if you have experienced rashes or other problems with over-the-counter products that originally contained BPO ingredients.
